On September 23 Alameda County Office of Education, Region 4 After School Programs Office, sent a letter of support acknowledging their enthusiastic reference for Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro as a high quality after school service provider.
Below are a few excerpts from the letter. Click here to read the complete letter.
BGCSL's leadership and work over the past 8 years has helped to position the communities it serves as state and national leaders in helping to advance "strategies for providing affordable after school for all."
The BGCSL stands out as a shining example to others of collaboration and partnerships that maximize our abilities to leverage public and private resources to keep kids safe, help working families, promote learning beyond school hours and enhance academic success and the health and wellness of children, families and our communities.
There are many policies and practices that help to create and maintain quality expanded learning programs; however, none is more important than providing highly qualified staffing and sufficient staff development to ensure continual improvement. This is where the BGCSL truly excels!
Working in partnership with school districts, school sites and regional and local technical assistance providers they have consistently demonstrated success in providing both qualified and well supervised staff that operates compliant and quality after school programs.
